Our Mission for 2026

A simpler time, when the goats weren’t so large :)

If you’ve spent any time around the Hayden Bridge area in Springfield this year, you might have seen a small, hardworking crew of Kiko goats clearing brush and maintaining the grounds at the EWEB water filtration plant. That’s us.

What do we do?

While goats are our bread and butter right now, we’re a family-driven business first. We wanted a brand that reflects our values: hard work, land stewardship, and building something lasting for our family. We intend for the The Hamlin Family Farm to evolve as we grow, whether that’s in grazing, orchards, or other land services down the road.

The Big Goal: 50 Goats

If 2025 was about proving the concept, 2026 is about scaling it.

Right now, we’re running a tight ship with 18 goats. They’re great workers, but to truly meet the needs of our partners and keep up with the local demand for sustainable brush clearing, we need more "boots" (or hooves) on the ground.

Our mission for 2026 is to grow the herd to 50 goats. Scaling the herd means we can take on bigger projects and provide broader service for our clients. It’s a big jump, but it’s the move we need to make to ensure we’re the most reliable prescribed grazing outfit in the valley.

What to Expect Here

This blog is going to be a place for honest updates on what we’re doing on the farm, work completed alongside our partners, the reality of managing a growing herd, new segments of the farming industry we’re expanding into, and maybe some updates about our growing family along the way.

We’re excited to be doing this work in our own backyard. Thanks for following along. It’s going to be a busy year.
